The Office of the Comptroller General of Peru invites you to the Commemoration of the 40 Years Lima Declaration of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) to be held on December 5th, 2017 in Lima, Peru.

The transcendence and validity of the principles contained in the Lima Declaration, considered the Magna Carta of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) have not only remain in time but have reach a worldwide relevance.

One of the topics we will address during the event that was coordinated with the INTOSAI General Secretariat is SAIs independence as the basis of government control and future challenges. We will also analyze the progress on such matter, contributing to the reflection and adoption of measures allowing us not to be influenced by external factor when fulfilling our role in a very objective, efficient and transparent manner.

Today that economy growth rhythm has decreased worldwide, SAIs need to have a more vigilant and accompaniment attitude to public decision makers so that investments in works and public services contribute to enhance citizens quality of life, specially of those with more disadvantages.

We are confident that this commemorative event for the 40 Years of the Lima Declaration will be an opportunity to reflect on the progress reached for own countries in matters of accountability, efficacy and transparency of the public administration, towards a better future.
